In school I had a chapter in our text book that outlined the benefits of capitalism in the form of a story about a village where everyone becomes more prosperous due to the innitiatives taken by a few villagers and how capitalism works out to the advantage of the rest of the village.

Though I am sure someone might argue with the benefits of capitalism, I am just borrowing the story line concept to write my own story about a village, its farms and its villagers. Please read on, I think it will be a relevant story.

This time around I present an interview with Harsha Abey. According to the stats available on the current TCA website Harsha has played 109 games, but I know the count must be atleast 30% off as the current site does not pull in data from some of the older games. In any case based on what is available, it is pretty clear to see that Harsha has been one committed actor in our weekend drama and one of his dreams just came true a couple of weeks ago - A TCA champions trophy - Winter League 2010. He even managed to record his best bowling figures to date in the Finals - talk about living your dream.

The San Ramon Nawaabs were crowned the Tennisball Cricket Association-San Ramon Cricket Association (TCA- SRCA) 2010 Winter League Champions when they beat the Piccadilly Pacers in an exciting final that was enjoyed by a sizeable crowd that had gathered on a sunny Saturday morning at the picturesque Monarch Park in San Ramon to watch this encounter between the top two teams in the League.

Over the years TCA has grown in talent and experience. Some veterans and some new comers are leaving their mark on the game in TCA's front yard. Looking at current stats it excites my mind that there are so many capable individuals who not only are stepping up game after game but in the long run helping their respective teams succeed. These individuals are not only consistent but very tenacious in their effort. Players like Jimmy Raja, Gaya Nagarajan, Hardik Thakkar, Ganapathi Bhat, Anil Mishra etc. etc. bring their "A" game on the field every time they step on it. Sometimes results for team might not be favorable however, these players have withstood the test of time.

Champions trophy has already started this week. Lot of live cricket and action pack weeks coming ahead. As top 8 teams of the world compete for their spot to hold on to the Champions trophy, we too have top 8 teams in both Elite and Royal battling to reach the top and grab TCA Open 2009 trophy.

This week its going to be do or die for each team. I am not going to talk about any team here, lets talk about top players in both Round 1 and Round 2 whose contribution brought their teams to Play Off.

What a way to finish the Round 2 of Open 2009 Congrats to all the teams who made their way to top 8 spots both in Elite and Royal.

TCA Bay Area is proud to announce the 3rd Annual TCA Bay Area Flood Light Tournament (FLT) followed by Winter League. FLT is the biggest cricket tournament of its kind in California and we expect a large number of teams to register for this event this year. Last years tournament was very exciting with 40 participating teams and was won by Warriors.
